Robotic Surgery in Conjunction with Gynaecologic Surgery

Course Objectives

Robotic surgery is becoming more and more popular especially in performing highly skilled procedure like prostatectomy, pieloplasty, tubal reanastomosis, etc. Recent developments have made this device more and more user-friendly and its application and utilization in surgery is increasing. An full two-day curriculum is the basis for the comprehensive basic training course in robotic surgery. The program is developed and implemented utilizing all the high-tech facilities like 3-D projection, hands-on training on wet-tissue and introductory lectures on specific topics on the use of robotic in surgery. The participant will focus on the basic principles and the fundamental skill of the use of surgical robots. There will be hands-on training on wet tissue, performing simple tasks to more advanced procedure like suturing, dissection and simple surgical procedures like appendectomy, cholecystectomy, etc.

Who Should Attend

Practicing surgeons who want to learn, develop or improve in robotic surgical skills. Operating theatre staffs who want to understand more on the basic theory and the rationale of Robotic Surgery.

Day 1

BASIC PRINCIPLES IN ROBOTIC SURGERY

  • Principles of Robotic Surgery
  • System Overview
  • 3D Camera Operation & Consolle Surgeons Skills
  • Robotic Instrumentation
  • Robotic OT Setup
  • Robotic Patient-side Assistant Role
  • Nursing Role
  • System tropubleshootng
  • Robotic setup in Basic Surgical Procedures: suturing,
    cholecystectomy, etc.

Day 2

HANDS-ON DRY TISSUE AND WET TISSUE

  • Practice on Instruments & Devices
  • Basic Coordination Skills
  • Basic robotic procedures: from dissection to suturing
